Circular No 530

Newsletter for alumni of The Abbey School, Mt. St. Benedict, Trinidad and Tobago, W.I.
Caracas, 31 December 2011 No.530
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Friends,
The following ALUMNI have left the internet:
John Abraham
Adrian Ache
Terrence Akin
Cedric Coussement
Anthony Boos
Keith Allen
Rene Bermudez
Bernado Bermuez
We at the Circular are worried about their health, can you help to reinstate them so that they may get the newest issues?
Another topic:
A New Year is coming, and with it the 100 anniversary of Mt.St,Benedict, but.......
No news as to the celebrations,
Anybody has an idea as to what shall be done?.
I know, we are months away, but neither the Abbot neither the Association has given clue as to what would be the programme for the celebration.
We at the Association should try at a get together a PLAN, this would be submitted to the ALUMNI at large.
I am sure that the precise anniversary date is not favourable for most, so must start earlier to formulate some ideas.
Maybe a get reunion in CANADA, VENEZUELA, USA and TRINIDAD.

Hear-ye--hear ye--let all my knights of Mt. Tabor know:
That I, Sir knight, "bandit", am ready to take on any task entrusted to me.
Sincerely in brotherhood.
"Sir knight bandit"
------------------------------------------------------------
To all the Knights of "White Stones", Chapter 11 is now Closed.
Attn: The Knight of Calypso/cc.UpperCircles/cc.GrandMasters.
Bandit, we are expecting the ship, on your coast line,
On time, will be in contact, take a look as it passes thru the Keys, then next stop east coast, to the Privateers port,
Will contact you on its arrival. (G#1/Club-Log 11/11/11)..
Glad to inform all that the young Knight Ian, is now on board the ship Abbey.
He is the 4th witness.
Now we may proceed on to Chapter 12, as instructed in the book,"The King of Hearts",
As we open Chapter 12, it is written: We will have members of the Knights of White Stones here, 42 years after the great year 2000, in body and soul, to receive the Virtual Key and Special Rights, to a different dimension, an entrance to another world.
When the Visitor of Peace, who visited our fathers a long time ago and directed them, to send us to that Castle in the Sky, he also said, one day he will return to visit the Witnesses of the Club of Knights, who are now the Keepers of a Rod of Fire, and are now prepared to receive a gift, a life insurance forever, a journey of no return, the entire tribe, to be transported thru a corridor of light, to a new Cosmic Realm, beyond all imagination.
Only once, the dreamer spoke of an Exodus of the Tribe, off this planet, to a space of no time that will reinvent the mind.
To recreate whatever is desired. This is the only one time, did a statement from the Dreamer, be discarded.
It is also recorded that day, the Dreamer was drunk and smoked from Oscar peace pipe, at a carnival fete.
Some still question was there ever a Club? no trace, no records, absolutely nothing was found, they just vanished,
This Invisible Tribe who lived in that Castle on Mt.Tabor.
As written in the book The King Of Hearts, Tales of The Knights of White Stones.
Other books, Writings on the Stones./ Mysteries of the Abbey Castle./Keepers of the Bees./Dutch Enclave./Nuns of Tabor./A Drunk Monk.
Thanking all Knights, for their continued co-operation in all our endeavours to remain an invisible tribe, forever one, sharing our secrets with no one outside of the great circle, as we make this journey, to the best of knowledge in our quest for divine Wisdom.
Long live the Realm, Long live the Mount, Long live the Club.
Best regards to all my brothers, may the sun shine on your faces and the wind on your backs.
Writers of the Knights. Yours Faithfully, Glen Mckoy/NS/Canada.

Hi Ladislao;
First of all, a blessed Christmas to you and a very happy New Year.
I think I recently got rid of the article my father wrote, but since it was for the Dutch papers,
I doubt it would be worth publishing.
From what I remember, it presented a brief history for a Dutch audience.

Dear Hans,
You should be reading your emails and a few photos in Circular No. 526.
I would like to know if you had any of the articles your father wrote???
I have filed the photos and would appreciate any new ones.
God Bless and Merry Xmas

Thanks for this useful bit of information, Richard. Every little helps, and I certainly had never heard of the two Gonsalves boys.
Question: If you joined MSB in 1946, what year did you finish Form 5 and leave?
Was it 1951? I currently have you down for 1949 (that was just a guess!)
Best wishes.

Hi Nigel, all the best for 2012.
Going through your latest list of old boys, I don't see Neil & Alexander Gonsalves, they were from Guyana, and we were in Fr LeeSings dorm.
We all started in 1946.
Don't know where they are today.

I was at the Abbey in circa 1976-1982.
Father Bernard was the Principal then followed Father Vincent, and Father Culbert was the VP.
Then I lived in Toronto and now the US.
Thanks for passing on the info.
Hoping one day I can arrange to attend a re-union.

Certainly, David.
I'm forwarding your email to Capt. Harris, who is today a commercial pilot in Dubai, and hopefully, he'll get in touch with you.
By any chance, were you a student at the Abbey School in Trinidad, at Mt. St. Benedict, and if so, what years did you attend school there?
Good luck.

Good morning Mr. Boos,
I googled my name and came across my name on a list of classmates that Allan Harris put together.
Captain Harris and I were roommates and close friend back in the late 70's and early 80's.
Since we graduated we have not been in touch.
Over the years I have tried finding him.
Could provide to me his email address or forward my email to him so that he has my email address?
Thanks,

I agree with you, Cornel.
It would be wonderful to have access to Fr. Benedict's archive of photographs.
Perhaps the ASAA Management could appoint someone to approach Fr. Abbot on the matter.

Hello Nigel and Glen,
I recently communicated with Kazim and inquired if it would be possible to create an album of photographs of (if possible) of all the years at the The Abbey School.
I know that this sounds like an enormous undertaking
But any journey begins with the first step, or idea; I did not know about any archive of Father Benedict’s pictures,
But I do know that while I was at the Mount He pretty much was the self appointed school photographer.
It would be nice to bounce some ideas around.

Hi Cornel,
So great to hear from you.
I enjoy all the things you share and appreciate you.
Yes, I am the person facilitating the MSB Old Boys website.
Let me know more of your idea.
I am always open to serving, and once all the other major participants know that this a project and I have the okay, sure, why not.
At present I am in New York/New Jersey.
Looking forward to hearing more from you....Kazim
PS. I just read in one of the recent newsletters that Fr Benedict left an archive, but we do not have access to it. The question is how can we get permission to scan the photos on site so the photos remain the property of the holders.

Hi Kazim,
Thank you for your kind words and well wishes.
Can you tell me, are you the brother that is "running" a website for the MSB Old Boys?
I was entertaining the thought, that if it is possible, can someone or group, find a way of compiling an album of all of the pictures of the ones taken in all of the years during our attendance and time at The Abbey School?
I am sure that that would be quite an undertaking, there has got to be someone that has a collection of a lot of the pictures.
I know that during my time, father Benedict took most all of the pictures and made them available to the boys.
He would number them and you could order them by number every time he posted, for all kinds of occasions and Sport activities.
Like I said, that would probably be quite an undertaking.
Do you reside in Trinidad?
