Dear Friends,
A few lines from Robert Lee on his remembrances and his actual work for the young.

Dear Cheche,
Welcome to the Old boys network. I am pleased to hear that you have accomplished a great deal in life as a lawyer and that you have a wonderful family including grand children. I do remember you, sort of curly sandy colour blond hair well built guy. Probably grey at this time.
Laugh laugh..
You were a senior at the time. I believe the intent of this website is to put former colleagues in touch with each other, some reminiscing and if a business opportunity arises it's a bonus.
What ever happened with Leoni? His father was the president of Venezuela. I had the most memorable birthday, 30/01/53, which is the same day as Leoni´s. I would quietly enjoy this day as the attention went to him, I avoided the infamous Mount tradition on your birthday "sampat". The 747 that would bring the chefs and food from Venezuela! Then there was Cantores whose father would circle the Mount with his plane before landing at Piarco airport.
On a personal note, I am the international manager of a Factoring company in Toronto, Canada. I am blessed with having a career that has allowed me to travel to some of the most exciting countries around the world.
I recently accepted a nomination to the education committee of Factors Chain International, www.factors-chain.com,  160 banks and financial companies in 59 countries. Our first task was to write a manual on running a factoring company in the early stages. We are also charged with the duty of, course material, setting the questions for a correspondence course. We are trying to bring Factoring to Venezuela, I believe that the banking infrastructure is not ready. There are some interest in Venezuela.
Anyways, the real passion of my life is baseball. I am involved with amateur baseball and it consumes 5 days a week of life.
www.eteamz.com/phoenixelite16u.  I take my hat off to you for your commitment to running. New York marathon 2X incredible!
If I get a chance to take some time off later this year I might just head down to Puerto Piritu. My in-laws own a condo in Puerto Piritu.

Hi Ladislao,
I have just realized that the two photos make an amusing bit of history of the last 40 years.
I have cropped them to more or less the same size to show the 40 year difference.
Hope you can publish them when you have a slow week.
They are attached.
Keep well.

My problem with roulette is that I never bet except it is a sure thing.
I only wish I had followed the same rule with all the adventures I have had in my life!!
Here is one of us both in 1971, the last day of my law exams, exactly 40 years ago.
Keep well.

Hi Ladislao;
Remembering those special days and occasions at MSB:
* Holydays - no school and we were treated to a special meal with cider plus usually a movie.
* Sports Day - lots of fun with many activities and good competition.
* 25th Abbey School Anniversary Celebration - A real fete with many, many in attendance and lots of fun.
* Fund raising occasions like the huge bingo game in POS in 1962; I recall that top prize was something like 10,000 T&T dollars.
* Trips to the beaches in Mayaro, "down to the islands", and the American naval base.
* Cricket test matches at the oval in POS.
* Opening day of the pool.
* Sundays - when we could sleep in a little longer.
* Parents Day - those of us lucky to get to play in the cricket match were treated to a beer with the adults.
* Dance at St Joseph Convent - first time that boys were able to "officially" interact in a dance  with girls in the history of the school - a revolutionary moment.
* Venezuelan Independence Day - being invited to the consulate for good food and drinks.
* and who can forget........CARNIVAL.
Perhaps other readers can add to this list for their times at  MSB.
May God bless us all,
George

Hard to believe that hundreds of MSB alumni have nothing to share with one another.  Possible reason(s):
1.Too busy, no time
2. Don't care
3. The novelty, excitement has worn off
4.  Have ran out of things to say
5.  Wife does not permit it
6. No porn
7.  Sharing is for the birds
8.  Real men do not waste their time on this stuff
9.  Why bother
10.  Memories have faded with time
11.  This stuff is boring
12.  Promises, promises, promises
13.  It's too cold
14.  It's too hot
15.  Who are these guys?
16.  Too short
17.  Too long
18.  Too old
19. Too new
20.  Hurt feelings
21.  Painful
22.  Time to let go
23.  Forget
24. Move on
25.  ______________________________
God bless y'all

1961 FORM IV
When we graduated from Form III to Form IV, we had the choice of taking courses related to science or in languages.
I choose to take Biology instead of French.
Fathers Augustine and Bernard disagreed with my choice.
They wrote to my parents that I was making a mistake and strongly recommended that I take French.
They agreed with the priests and so I was forced to switch to French.
Remember walking back into class for the first time after the change and Fr Augustine telling the class "The Prodigal Son Returns".
I certainly was not happy and "humiliated" at having to change.
1963-1968
I study and graduate as a chemical engineer; Biology does not play a role in these studies.
1969-2006
While working for Du Pont, I take several business trips to a number of Du Pont plants in France over the years.
I have the capability to understand what my French colleagues are saying and communicate in a very basic level.
2011, TODAY
I am retired and working part-time as a consultant.
I am writing this note from Noumea, New Caledonia, which is a French protectorate.
Most of the folks that I interact with here only speak French.
Again, thanks to the monks, I am able to communicate with them.
REFLECTION
Why did Fathers Augustine and Bernard "interfere" with my decision in 1961 (50 years ago)?
Was it Wisdom or "Bon Chance"?  HHHHHHHHHMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Guys
Many notes in past years refer to music as being an important part of our MSB heritage.
Here is a test of your memories.
When and who sang the following songs in the 1956-1962 time period when I attended the Abbey School:
Ice Man, Michael, Jean and Dinah, Young Ones, Lazy Man, Volare, Doctor Nelson, Mack The Knife, Maria, Don't Be Cruel, Pay As You Earn, You Send Me, Gunslingers, Theme  From A Summer Place.
Enjoy the tunes in your mind as you remember the music of that era which was quickly followed by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and the British Invasion which started in 1963.
May God bless you and yours,
George
PS - the answers to the above will follow in a subsequent note.
